Note: Because the book is divided between two months the book reviews will not be due until the week after our final chat in June. However, it might be a good idea to start taking notes while you read the book, not only because it is so long, but also so you will be able to remember the earlier parts of the book when you reach the end.
And for those who wish to read more on this President here are some other books to consider:
- The Authobiography of Harry S. Truman, by Harry S. Truman
- Memoris of Harry S. Truman: 1945 Year of Decisions, by Harry S Truman
- Harry S. Truman, by Margaret Truman.
- Where the Buck Stops: the Personal and Private Writings of Harry S. Truman, by Margaret Truman.
As a side note, for those interested here are some other great books written by Margaret Truman, President Truman's daughter.
- First Ladies: An Intimate Group Portrait of White House Wives
- The President's House: 1800 to the Present; the Secrets and History of the World's Most Famous Home
I've read the latter, which was very interesting. It's a book dedicated to the history of the White House with lots of inside details and some great pictures. I hope to read the former sometime soon, but probably not till after I finish Truman.
